About Us


Mitsubishi Air-Conditioning Systems entered the UK air conditioning market in 1985. The factory in Livingston (18 miles from Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh) was registered in 1993.

With production commencing in 1994, M-ACE is the group centre for Mitsubishi heating and air-conditioning business in Europe, employing approximately 1000 staff across its 7 sites.

Now serving as the group base for air conditioning business in Europe, the plant works in conjunction with other group factories based in Japan, Thailand, and China.

In 2009 M-ACE started to diversify by moving into the production of air-to-water heat pumps for the domestic heating market.

By applying innovative and high-quality proven technologies, M-ACE manufactures air conditioners and heat pumps with advanced intelligence built in. Looking to the future, we will keep introducing new models to meet European regulations and satisfy diverse market demands.

All our products go through rigorous testing regimes to ensure the highest compliance standards:

• High-pressure test
• Helium testing on the accumulator
• Helium testing on the heat exchanger
• Full running test of the electrical controller box
• Full test run for each outdoor unit in heating and cooling mode
• Final visual inspection of the product

We operate a state-of-the-art testing facility, including calorimeter chambers for heating and cooling performance measures and one anechoic chamber for sound level tests.

Mitsubishi Elect ric R&D Centre Europe B.V. is based in our factory, where we have built two identical houses as real-life models for efficiency evaluation.

With more than 1000 sensors in each building, measuring numerous properties, including temperature, humidity and energy consumption, Mitsubishi Electric R&D Centre Europe B.V. is leading studies on energy efficiency. Its research helps us continue to develop smarter and more efficient heat pumps and HVAC systems.

We place great emphasis on the value and importance of producing the highest quality air conditioning and heat pump systems. Through the Japanese principle called Kaizen, we are continuously improving our processes to increase production efficiency.

We encourage our employees to offer and implement ideas for improving all stages of the manufacturing process.
